That’s what we are covering today. Because at the end of the day, if you don’t have anything to offer that is also of high value to your target audience…your sign ups will be slow at best.
Before we start throwing out lead magnet ideas and run off to start creating them, here are a few tips to offering a freebie your ideal clients actually want.

In order for your ideal customer or client to give you their email address, you have to offer immense value up front.
So how do you create something that your target audience wants? One place to start is by asking them. Through market research, picking up the phone or posting a survey…figure out what would be valuable to them first.
When you know those answers you can include these few value bombs in your freebie!
- Your Freebie should speak to and solve a problem for them. The bigger the pain point and the problem you hit on, the better. Create something that solves a big problem for them.
- Give them a quick win. That quick win gives them an “ah ha” moment which builds trust with them. That quick win with no expectations on your part will encourage them to come back for more.
- Is of high value to them. To figure this out, you need to know your customer and what would be extremely valuable to them.
Once you have a better understanding of your ideal clients and their problems, creating your lead magnet will allow you to fill in those gaps for them.

The tried and tested checklist is a super simple way to walk your customers and clients through a step by step process to get a desired result.
What do you include in your checklist? That’s a perfect question for your target audience! What problem does it solve? What is the result your client is going to achieve from downloading your checklist?
Lead Magnet Idea #2: Free workbook and training
This one has recently been an option that has drawn me in lately! I just went through a training from a larger FB community owner. She put out this training to her audience.
Even though I was already on her email list, this opportunity had me book marking her email, downloading the workbook and finding some time to watch the training.
Think of this as a great way to offer a high value experience with you, similar to what they would experience when they work with you.
It’s a great way to establish trust with someone while also building your authority with them!
In my example, I was already on her email list, but you can bet that now I pay much more attention to her notifications on Facebook…AND I gave some consideration to her group coaching program.
She helped me solve a problem in her training, got me to result with the workbook and called me to think about my next steps! Super powerful!

Opt-in Idea #3: The Free Pop-Up Challenge!
Ok, for me this one has to be my favorite! As I write this post I am currently involved in 3 (YES 3!!) free challenges in groups.
This idea takes a little more work up front to run, but it’s a GREAT way for your audience to get to know you and build a ton of trust while your challenge is going on!
Think about how you get drawn into those types of challenges (whether they are on Facebook, through email, or a stand alone course)?
I know what draws me in is the results I will get from showing up. Where will I be in 3, 5 or 7 days from now if I give you some of my time?
Not only that, but if there is enough value given during that time I will likely stick around to learn more about you, the programs you offer and how I can work with you when I am ready!
