How to grow your business using Pinterest in a few simple steps!
Yes, Pinterest can be simple! Ok, I know this might be where you tune me out or tell me about your last attempt at trying Pinterest.
The problem? Most business owners don’t know where to start, they just start somewhere, and then get lost in all the boards, pins, scheduling and changes to the platform.
Today, I’m going to simplify it for you! I’m going to give you a place to start AND the next steps you need to take to keep moving forward.
How? By giving you a boost with my own personal system when I work on Pinterest with my own content!
Grab your coffee, water or favorite beverage and lets walk through a few key points to get started, and grow your business using Pinterest!

Starting on Pinterest can be overwhelming! Trust me, I know this and have been there. Pinterest will work well for you to help grow your visibility, and create demand for your products, programs and services.
The key to getting started right is to build a solid foundation!
Before you start pinning, I highly recommend having your strategy in place.
- Why and how are you planning to use Pinterest?
- What is your biggest goal for your business using Pinterest?
- Why are you using Pinterest to grow your business?
Knowing the reason behind your marketing on Pinterest will drive everything else you do.
- Are you planning to grow your email list?
- Sell out your online course or program?
- Or find your ideal clients?
Your end goal will drive the rest of the foundation work and strategy you do.

Pinterest is a search engine, therefore keywords and search drive visitor behavior and are the trick to getting in front of your ideal customers or clients.

Third → Be consistent
Consistency is extremely important on Pinterest, just like any other platform.
Pinterest stresses publishing fresh quality content on a regular basis. This means that less is sometimes more, and a good mix of your content plus quality curated content from others is what they are looking for.
Pinterest is a long term game, so just remember that what you are pinning this week, may take a bit to catch on. However, the benefit of Pinterest is that the lifespan of your pin is so much greater than other platforms.
In order to see the best results on Pinterest, you must be consistent with your pinning and the content you are putting out there and sharing.
Finally → review, rework, rinse and repeat!
After all the hard work is done and your pins are out there, the next step is to see what’s working and what’s not.
There are a few different sources I turn to, to check how my content is performing. Here are my top 3 sources for analytic data I check:
- Google analytics: My top source! It’s most accurate and breaks things down well to help me understand where traffic to my business is coming from.
- Pinterest analytics: A place for more info on how the pins on your account are performing! Some info you can’t get from google.
- Tailwind analytics: Tailwind is becoming more robust and helping to navigate my overall strategy on Pinterest.
From this information you can determine which of your posts are performing best, which of your pins are performing well and get more ideas on future content you can create.
This might include:
- blog posts
- Videos
- podcast episodes
- program content and of course new pin designs!
Checking over your analytics at least once a month will help you make updates to your Pinterest strategy. Ultimately this will help keep you on track toward your goals!

Growing your business using Pinterest can be as simple as getting the right systems in place and implementing them consistently. It’s from my own need to make things simple that I have developed a step by step system to my own marketing on Pinterest.
If your goal in business is to get more target traffic using Pinterest, lets set your strategy and implement the systems!
